Summer time is for quick snacks and cold treats that are just as easy to make as they are to take to the pool. This whipped feta is creamy, tangy, and can be made in under 10 minutes which makes this the perfect appetizer to enjoy poolside, or at any gathering with friends and family. There’s no prep needed. Just throw this very short list of these delicious ingredients into a blender and enjoy!
I am so lucky to live in a city where there is incredible food all around me. The food scene here is not afraid to try new things, and proudly put their own spin on a simple dish. That is what inspired this delicious 10 minute whipped feta. I have tried so many incredible dips and appetizers, and I decided to try to make my own version of this dip at home.
If you are looking to switch up your usual snack routine, and perhaps to even save some money, I highly recommend taking inspiration from the restaurants you know and love. Try making your own version of your favorite dishes at home. I’m not sure how it is where you live, but for us, everything is so expensive! That means we are spending a lot more time at home, and meeting up with friends in their homes rather than meeting up at restaurants.
If you are in the same boat as me, then what an incredible opportunity to get creative in the kitchen! I know anytime we try something new it can feel very overwhelming, which is why I think it’s so important to have recipes like this in your back pocket. You can make this whipped feta in 10 minutes since there’s only about 7 ingredients. How easy is that?!
Why You’ll Love This Whipped Feta
Quick – This is probably the quickest recipe I have shared yet and for good reason. There is no prep time, and you don’t need a lot of tools to make it. We’re busy people which means we’re going to whip this up real quick and then head back out into the sunshine!
Delicious – The tangy feta mixed with fresh, good quality ingredients will blow you away with how flavorful this dip is. With flavors that are this powerful and delicious, a little goes a long way.
Healthy – My favorite thing about making/cooking food from scratch is knowing exactly what is in my food. This whipped feta calls for simple, inexpensive ingredients and none of the sneaky bad stuff I’m trying to avoid.
Tips
- A little goes a long way with salt. Since the feta is already so tangy, you don’t really need to add any more salt than the recipe calls for. I know it’s not that much, but trust me.
- This recipe calls for roasted tomatoes, and while I guess that could be considered an optional step, I would highly recommend NOT skipping that step. They really take this dip to another level and I would even say they’re the best part!
- This whipped feta is pretty thick so don’t just enjoy it as an appetizer. I would use it as a spread on flatbreads and toast as well.
Tools You May Need
Food processor – This is best for blending up thicker dips like this one, but if you have a blander that works too. Just be sure to pulse it more frequently.
Garlic mincer – Fresh garlic is the way to go for this recipe!
Silicone spatula – For removing all of the whipped feta from the food processor.
Cutting board
Large knife – To slice the cherry tomatoes.
Small pan – To roast the tomatoes.
Whipped Feta Ingredients
8 oz block of feta
Greek yogurt – You could also use heavy cream or coconut milk.
Garlic cloves
Cherry tomatoes
Red onions – for garnish (optional)
Olive oil
Basil – I used fresh basil, but dried works as well.
Parsley
Salt
Pepper
How to Make the Whipped Feta
Drizzle olive oil on a small pan and slice the cherry tomatoes.
Place the tomatoes face down, sprinkle with salt and pepper, and cook at medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat once the bottom of the tomatoes are slightly browned at the edges.
Break up the 8 ounce block of feta into smaller pieces and add them to the food processor.
Next, add the greek yogurt, basil, parsley, olive oil, and garlic cloves.
Pulse the food processor until everything is blended together, forming a creamy consistency.
Add the whipped feta to a bowl and top with the roasted tomatoes.
This step is optional but I added diced red onions for garnish and color. The added crunch is also great!
Finally, drizzle with olive oil and enjoy!
Storage – This whipped feta can be stored in the refrigerator for about 3 – 4 days.

There are so many ways you could take this recipe. If you have more of a sweet tooth, instead of adding savory spices you could add vanilla extract, maple syrup, or even honey to sweeten things up. If you enjoy a spicier option, use this recipe as a base and then add siracha, jalapeños, or you could even add your own hot honey for a sweet and spicy kick.
FAQ:
You may have blended it too long or added too much liquid. This can be easily fixed by adding more feta or adding a thickening agent like corn starch or arrowroot powder. Next time, make sure to pulse the blender for a thicker consistency.
You can use an immersion blender! Just add all the ingredients to a wide mouth jar and pulse with the immersion blender. You can also use a NutriBullet or a traditional blender. Just be sure to pulse the ingredients so it doesn’t end up smooth or runny.
